The new CiscoWorks2000 Device Fault Manager 1.0 provides real-

time, detailed fault analysis for Cisco devices and proactively

notifies network managers of critical network conditions.

2000" update kits for the CiscoWorks2000 LAN Management

Solution (LMS) and Routed WAN Management Solution (RWAN). This

Cisco is now offering standards-based Multiprotocol Label

Switching (MPLS) technology on its IGX 8400 Series Multiservice

Switch Platform. An entry point to MPLS on a carrier-class

platform, the IGX 8400 Series expands the reach of the

successful Cisco BPX 8600 MPLS technology, which is often used

in conjunction with the IGX 8400.

Designed primarily for Internet service providers, the IGX 8400

is ideal for post, telephone, and telegraph (PTT) carriers as

well as alternative providers that deliver Frame Relay and ATM

services for midsize or distributed points of presence. It also

works well with deployments that require a robust yet cost-

effective multiservice solution. In addition, the IGX 8400

series brings the scalability advantages of IP+ATM equipment to

large enterprises all over the world.

Running MPLS on the IGX 8400 requires version 9.3.10 or higher

of the Cisco Switch Software (currently available), as well as

UXM ATM modules, NPM-64B processor modules, and an IGX Label

Switch Controller (available November 15, 2000).
